It all starts with this...

Forestry in Finland is different, forests cover 75% of the land area of Finland - 61% of which is privately owned. Management of this resource dates back to 1920 and today forests are a renewable resource as well as being a source of prosperity and mental well-being.

Forest growth is roughly 110 million cubic metres annually, harvesting accounts for around 70 million cubic metres each year and means that stocks grow in surplus year after year.

Around 13% of the forests are protected or under restricted use the highest such area in Europe, helping to maintain biodiversity and off-setting climate change by sequestering carbon capture.

The presence of large predators such as Brown bears and wolves, indicators of a balanced and diverse wilderness.

Laminated Timber - after the initial felling and drying, the process sees selected sections of the heartwood machined and then glued under pressure, this method was developed in Finland over 30 years ago - it delivers an enormous range of benefits, including:

non-toxic manufacturing process
waste used elsewhere in the production process or in secondary products.
