Chalet Log Homes - New Thinking?
Whilst Kontio have outpaced their competition in design terms - removing the traditional castellated corner and wall joints, there is still demand for the traditional look.
This is definitely the case for chalet style properties that can be found even here in the UK, supplying the holiday let market primarily, tucked away into woodlands where they look the part and create that mountain style fee.
As previously, the models shown are those that have been designed and built for previous customers but if you have a need, we can design to order.
Flexible
River House, available as standard with three different floor layouts, is a traditional chalet style log home, but with modern appeal.
The castellated corner and wall joints are there, so to are the floor joists protruding through the walls giving that traditional visual.
Otherwise there is a modern touch with the storey height window, flooding the house with light, even in the winter months when light is at a premium.
WORTH NOTING - don't forget, the timber logs serve as a battery, even in winter months, absorbing the ever present photons into the timber, releasing the heat generated overnight.

From a simple chalet style building, sleeping 4, to a luxury chalet the size of a small hotel sleeping 6 comfortably in large double bedrooms, furnished with a sauna, a log fire, large kitchen and dining facilities and still room to escape to and relax.
Sustainably sourced timber, the timber remember itself sourced from arctic forests, so well capable of withstanding the rigours of a winter in the UK.
If you are looking at using a chalet style building to service the holiday sector here in the UK, then the fastest growing sector is at the luxury end of the market, but if you are an architect or private client looking to build in Europe or anywhere in the world for that matter, not a problem.

The experience of a stay in a log home is never forgotten and that does not matter whether the stay was in the mountains of Austria or wooded hillside or area in the UK.
If you are a private client or achitect looking to create that sense of adventure in the UK, then think carefully, give your (or their) clients more reasons to return by giving them a different reason to come back to your site by having different buildings to choose from.
Larger buildings are at a premium for larger families or groups, so mixing the bedroom availability and size as well as design can bring customers back to your site.
